When it comes to special occasions whether it may be with friends, family, or guests, having a beautiful table setting can drive the atmosphere of the room upward. If you look at the two pictures below you can get an idea of how a table setting can alter moods in a room. The first one has a romantic element, filling a room with bliss and happiness.
The second one really drives home the idea of using the environment to your advantage.
That being said, these are professional pictures and unless you have an unlimited amount of time, resources and most importantly space; then it's not happing. However, that doesn't mean you can't create amazing table settings for your next upcoming event or party in the future.
Today I am going to show you how to create amazing table settings for any event you might have coming up.
The Theme
When I say theme, I don't mean the ones you find in your short story or novel, even though they do have similarities. I mean the theme or atmosphere you want to create for your visitor or family members when they begin to sit around the table. For example, you can follow holiday themes like Christmas, Halloween, or Easter. These are common ones everyone will do once in their adult life. Don't be scared to add texture to your table setting. For example you can add a textured table runner that can either be a shade darker of a shade lighter than you table cloth. Adding texture to your table setting is a great way to add your personal touch to your table setting. If you want to stand out from the rest and leave people in awe, then I have a few theme ideas for you.

If you're looking for the material or plates for the table setting. You can look at your local Winners, Omer des Serres, Amazon, Home Sense, Thrift Stores and so many other places. You just need to have a keen eye for what you're really looking for.
Colour
Colour and theme go hand in hand since one cannot co-exist without the other. When it comes to picking out the colour, one should always, always and I mean always follow the 3 colour variant method. The reason why I recommend this method is because not everyone is great at having or utilizing a multicolour setup. Imagine making a table setting with 5 colours, that would be a nightmare in the making. Unless you're some colour genius. For example, Color that matches well are :
Rose, Blue and White
The colours are vibrant but not too extreme, they balance each other out, without compromising each other.
or
You could have something dark and comforting like this photo beneath. The colour it uses is Black, Gold, Brown. This also applies to the napkins, since plenty of people seem to forget, how crucial of a role it plays to help bring that concept to life.
Utensil Placement
When I was a young girl, my mother always reminded me of a quote from Luciano Pavarotti "One of the very nicest things about life is the way we must regularly stop whatever it is we are doing and devote our attention to eating". This quote hits home perfectly since humans spend most of their time eating either by themselves or with the family. Having the correct utensil placement can really add a nice layer of sophistication to your table setting.
There are two styles of utensils setup you can do :
The first one is the regular utensil set up with limited forks or spoons. I would recommend this one if you're going to have only 4-5 people coming over or you can use it for date night.
The second one is for more informal and huge events. It keeps everything in line with the idea you're going for.
Here you, this is my guide on what you need to create an amazing table setting 2021. If you enjoyed this article, share it with friends and family as well.
